What Does the Guardian Program Involve?

Under the Guardian Program:

• You provide the love, care, and everyday needs of your Cavoodle throughout their lifetime.
• Provide high quality pet food kibble from Pet Store not supermarket, Pet Insurance a must, puppy attends puppy kindy and is well socialised.

Gold Coast Cavoodles retains the exclusive breeding rights for:

• Females: Up to 4 litters
• Males: Up to 5 years of stud duties

Once the contract is complete, we arrange and cover the cost of desexing (spaying or neutering).

We prioritise families based on the Gold Coast region, though we may consider homes in Brisbane or nearby areas if they can commit to travel and support our breeding schedule when required.

Note: The Puppy can not be desexed till they have finished the program.

Can we buy our dog from the guardian program?

No, we do not allow our guardian homes to “purchase” the dog from us as these dogs have been hand selected in advance in order to get the best genetics, colour, structure etc. possible to move our breeding program further. If you are interested in applying please be confident in your commitment to the guardian program.

👩‍🍼 Female Guardians

• Breeding generally begins between 18 months to 2 years of age.
• Most females will have 1–2 litters per year over a four-year period.
• When your girl is in season, she’ll return to us briefly for mating, then stay with us for around 6 weeks to whelp and raise her puppies.
• After weaning, mum returns to her Guardian family to continue her happy life until her next season.

🐾 Male Guardians

• Male studs begin breeding around 12 months of age and remain active for up to 5 years.
• Frequency of use depends on our breeding program needs — generally several times per year.
• Each mating cycle typically involves 3 visits over one week, and sometimes a vet visit for semen collection or testing.
• For convenience, we may travel to you if you’re local, which is why proximity is preferred.
